Better meet the needs of industry practitioners and make our products, services, and educational offerings more relevant to their jobs and career aspirations.
It is of paramount importance to reverse the trend that shows that THE INSTITUTE is gradually becoming an organization of academics and run by academics (IEEE’s industrial membership dropped from 67% to 47% since 2000). To do this, we need to offer them better access to technical information, one that is more personalized, as well improved networking and career opportunities.
I will focus on providing members in the industry with information through topically organized industry resource centers that will help them access and leverage quality technical information quickly. The centers will also offer career resources and allow them to continue their education, aiding to their life-long professional growth.
